The Politics of Consciousness: Light & Heavy

What Does RFK and Consciousness Have to Do With Each Other? (Or: How I Used Light & Heavy at the State Board of Elections)

What an odd way to start a blog, right? But that’s exactly the question that popped into my world that day as I stood at the State Board of Elections in Illinois.

There I was, surrounded by voter guides, paperwork, names, parties, platforms, promises—and then… energy. Yep. Energy. Because somewhere in the middle of all that structure, I remembered one of the simplest (and most brilliant) tools from Access Consciousness:Light and heavy.

“What's true for you will always feel light. A lie will feel heavy.”

So I started asking questions.

If I vote for this person, does it create more for the future? If I choose this, does it contribute to the world I’d actually like to live in?

And when I asked about what RFK could create for the world - BOOM - the energy was undeniable that he had something massive to contribute to the world.

My awareness came not from logic, not from the news, not from groupthink. From energy. Something about his name, his presence, his wild card factor—was light.

Not light as in “perfect.”Not light as in “right.”Just… spacious.

Now, this isn’t about whether RFK is the answer (spoiler: consciousness doesn’t do “answers”).It’s not about agreeing or disagreeing. It’s not even about politics. It’s about choosing with awareness.

You see, most people choose their candidate based on polarity: They vote against someone.Or for someone out of alignment, loyalty, fear, anger, or historical momentum.

What if there’s another way? What if you didn’t have to buy into the drama, trauma, or the programmed rightness and wrongness of either side?

What if your vote could be a conscious choice—one that includes you, the planet, the future, and the energy of what you know is possible?

RFK may or may not be your light. That’s not the point. The point is: Are you willing to follow what’s true for you, even if it’s inconvenient, unpopular, or doesn’t make sense?

Because that’s where consciousness lives. In the question. In the willingness to choose. In the awareness that goes beyond the mind.

So, next time you're faced with a decision—big or small—try asking:“If I choose this, is it light or heavy?”

And trust what you perceive. Even in a voting booth. Even when it’s about politics. Even when the world tells you not to trust yourself.

What could you create for the future by choosing what's light?
